The Master Gardeners of North Alabama
The Master Gardeners of North Alabama (MGNA), a non-profit group maintains the triangles and median at the corner of Williams Ave and Church Street. This is an Adopt-A-Spot program sponsored by the City of Huntsville. This is a joint relationship between MGNA, Bennett Nurseries, A&A Irrigation and the City of Huntsville Landscaping Dept. The MGNA volunteers plant seasonal color beds in 2 traffic triangles and the center median. They also pick up litter and weed the beds throughout the year. The seasonal beds are planted in the spring (prior to Panoply) and in the fall (after Big Spring Jam). This Adopt-A-Spot project was established in 1995. The MGNA is the largest Master Gardener association in the state of Alabama.

WAAY to be GREEN
Founded in 1977, Operation Green Team was originally known as the Huntsville Madison County Clean Community Office. It is a city-funded organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. This board meets monthly to plan strategies and projects aimed at accomplishing its goals and objectives, which center around education and beautification efforts, maintaining a sustained litter reduction, and improving waste handling practices in the community. Operation Green Team endeavors to make Huntsville a role model for the state, region and Nation in terms of landscape beauty, cleanliness, and environmental consciousness
Operation Green Team is affiliated with Keep America Beautiful, Inc., which is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving waste handling practices in American communities. Through this affiliation, Operation Green Team is able to offer curricula that teach our youth how to manage the waste we produce, intelligently and responsibly.
Operation Green Team's Coordinator and mascots are available for appearances at schools, youth and organizational events, or corporate events. Contact our office if you or your group would like to become part of the team.
Remember Huntsville belongs to all of us, and it's up to all of us to Keep Huntsville beautiful.
